Home

how have I ever been able to call anywhere else home

when home is here

enveloped in your tantalizing valleys

your fertile undulations

invite lush thought

empty years

traversing empty

to find you in suffocating winter

dormant, cracks permeating ice crusted lakes

branches bare, devoid of bud

patience now my sweet

as ever close, our time to meet

then to part these mists that choke

and sweet spring

our love invoke

Fireside…

this match was not easy to light

through this stinging

rain shivered night

yet it combusts mighty from biting spark

step closer

so it may singe it’s mark

on your wayward heart

this fire is not easy to tend

weak arms on dusted bellows bend

sweet murmurs by the hearth portend

wisps of ashen promise, then spill

smouldering embers to

fireside stone

feel my warm …

fireside

An Impatient Heart

How do you calm an impatient heart?

Do you lead her to the riverside

and distract her with mossed root and pebble collide

seeking her yearnings to hide?

Do you still her with indigo sky

point at gasps of cloud pile on high

will this scene not render a sigh?

Do you caution

“wear shoes on the slippery hill!”

but she has already bolted

wild child

she

is

still

Two moons of Saturn

We are two moons of Saturn

you and I

Floated on a set trajectory

you my Titan

Bold and cloaked in ammonia veils

I your Hyperion

a porous remnant

susceptible to cosmic influence

bonded in celestial resonance

Sometimes as you pass

I hear your cryovolcanos spew

a humming firmament

beneath murky methane clouds

and you hide hydrocarbon oceans

in frigid darkness

And I am set into a chaotic rotation

a child’s broken spinning top

no magnetic poles mark my iced canyons

pitted and aged by

ancient asteroid assault

Tumbling through the abyss

you and I

For all you moon inspired, night sky gazers.

Plutonium am I

Unstable, decaying

I began losing helium bullets

the day we met

my atom balance upset

my mind a neutron haze

Created from an exploding star

I wanted my half life to be

a

whole

life

with you

But you listened to the incessant tick tick of your Geiger insecurities

And you barricaded yourself deep

in a radiation proof shelter

for one
