Gone

Your ghost has gone

No longer the taste of arsenic-laced  lips

with treacle sheen

your searing salivary residue

wiped away

Where pyrotic solvents once burned

an acid hole deep within

calming enteric salve now soothes mucosal chasms

The antacid of time

The Umbrella

A frail cool breeze

Filters through the trees

As gentle as a patient lover’s kiss
Then the ominous grey

Transforms the summer’s day

The bored lover walks away
Be not as fickle as the weather

Carry an umbrella

Even when a heart is soaked through

Know tomorrow she will renew

Magic Show

Shall I undo all the memories of you?

As a magician might hypnotize an audience member.

Throw a dark cloak and obscure every moment,

every falsehood uttered

Then pull my white rabbit heart from a top hat.

“Tadam”
Yes I would volunteer to stand centre stage,

Spotlight on my pain

Be sawed into halves, or infinite pieces

However long it takes

Numbed to the teeth rasping back and forth.

(Insert audience gasp)

Just to be free of you.
When an empath encounters a narcissist, the former could well do with a magician to erase the whole miserable encounter. No rabbits were harmed during this act.
