Depleted

in these canyons of craving

we shuffle as

shadowed silhouettes

shallow footprints never settling

under a stinging desert shamal

squinting through silica scathing

with sand grit mouth

our lips pull away

parched, lithic dry…

your pernicious passion contrived

in clandestine contrast

to the sky

which thereafter floods blue

from tears

bathing

true

Horizon

tonight a final masterpiece

for you paint the sky with a divine touch

brushing watercoloured wisps

with fine sable tip

letting reflections fall

and wavelet mirrors enthrall

your fleeting exhalations roll  clouds

toward my horizon

yet I slip further away as the the world turns

momentarily grasping the sun

in my palm

oh, how it burns

then return to the place

where the sky kisses the earth’s jagged edge

my love dwelling in granite chasms

and shadowed crevice

for invertebrates

of a nameless kind

In Dreams

Haunted am I
by your face in dreams

where lips move but I cannot hear sound

and even if utterances profound

my heart would mute the words

to a faint melodic hum

a staccato stutter
So you hold up cards

glyphic serif font

Bold

but my heart shields my eyes

her strong hands I cannot prise

only cracks of daylight

fuse

with

fading goodbyes
