distort my shadow with play of prism

elongate and fenestrate the light in godly prison

subjugate such spectrum with uncanny precision

i watch as you deftly twist the beam

with sleight of hand, perverse

and palm unseen

when fingertips are pungent,

this air is kerosene

you want me fire

to heated point,

but I am rainbow

The imagery here is so vivid, so intense! Especially loved the finale, where the dark gives way to the light…of the rainbow, of you 🌈

  2. I loved how you used your words to represent the protest against the distortion of your personality and real self but no energy is strong enough to dim the light of the rainbow soul that you carry within.
    Such a profound thought.

  3. So beautifully written! I never get tired of you work! Your language just keeps me on the edge of my seat! So beautiful, the way you spin words and form something out of almost nothing. Well written!

  4. This is perfect and I have no words to describe it 🌈. Diana, I came to say goodbye and was enchanted to read this poem. I wish you all the best in life but my journey, here on wordpress, has ended. Thank you for all your beautiful comments and for always reading my posts. You are one special human. Best of luck! Diana, a lost rainbow! ☺

    1. I travelled for some months Kutukamus, and instead of journeying through my mind and writing I externalized such creativity through fascinated observation … enjoying the many sights and sounds! Not to mention the incredible hospitality that welcomed me in India.
I’m sure the writing will return. Happy New Year to you! πŸ™‚
