The Fingerprint

your soul marks me

a fingerprint etched

melting the cool

with imprints; raised whorls

seizing bewildered gaze

mesmerized by the ways

of every Arabesque swirl

.

pausing at a bifurcation

to deviate, to wait?

shall a ridge ending

swerve, or demarcate

destiny’s decision?

.

I can only pore over possibilities

assembled between pores

the rest will be known to you

and you alone

.

puzzle of heart line, love line

palm heavy, flesh enshrined

grasping the cool eglantine

Sigh… Everyone reading you must feel lucky each time they do! I love the way you express your innermost feelings in words lost and found!
From the image to the last word, another transporting experience, this, from your quill of skill, Lady D! ❀

    1. Dear Lady I, of the Order of the Eggsemplary…. where would I be without your support, consistent and true. My quill may start its journey with wavering doubts, but the moment my words arrive at your door you always usher them in from the cold for a veritable feast of support. Haha, mad tumble of metaphors… have a wonderful day sweet pea πŸŒΉπŸ’πŸ€—πŸ’œπŸ’ŸπŸ˜˜

    1. Wow, how I adore the thought that my writing might overcome cynicism …. for here, in our words we have the sweet freedom to create the world our subconscious yearns for.

      1. I can’t get over that temperature in Australia! Shaking my head… although I grew up in Tassie and remember seeing my own breath vapours every winter. Let’s not tell the world about this … they expect heat and sandy beach activities everywhere downunder!

If you had told me two years ago that I would be the recipient of such praise I would have said β€œimpossible”. Thanks for making the impossible …. possible dear one ❀️❀️

      2. I’m still thinking about Nutrigrain now…and wondering where the heck the years have gone. πŸ˜€
Or were you a Weetbix kid? Wait, vegemite?
I’m inclined more towards Nutella now LOL

      3. Yes I was a Weetbix kid predominantly…those suckers were so incredibly milk soaking, mush in mouth hack-hack!
I discovered Nutella (by the spoonful directly into mouth) in my early adult years 🀩😍

      4. No, actually I stopped eating cereal decades ago. Sometimes I’ll have steel cut oats, but most often a little sour dough bread with the lightest scrape of honey as I’m running out the door with a coffee. The breakfast of (groggy headed) champs lol
Hugs to you for your empty cupboard empathy sweet V!
