your words are obsession

i wear them as garland

around my neck

a syllabic posy

 

touch me not with tentative fingertips

let me feast on words first

 

you speak a bouquet with ardent brevity

soaked in cognac, breeding longevity.

intoxicated I yield

as you place the blindfold

dark consonants consume vapid vowels

light removed, limbs revealed

 

i warn of sensitive skin

a hedonist prone to histrionics and hives

seeking sweet amaranthine surprise

amidst stinging nettle nouns

arrogating attention with alliterations

 

your words fire me

in terse, tectonic tense

a loquacious libretto

of hyphenated suspense

 

our nascent hearts

unmute

  2. I had a huge smile on my speechless lips while reading this. What do I single out here? Diana… Bow down to your might. I don’t think I’m qualified enough to make a comment on that… I’m just going to enjoy these beautiful, rich, vibrant ‘bouquet’ of words… Each line is beauty personified! 🌹😘🌼

    1. Oh you are something! With your exquisite inspection and interesting take in my writing. This was a peculiar write for me; even as I wrote it I felt like an inner cryptic muse was forcing words and having fun with my thoughts.

  19. You keep adding words to my lexicon and string them together using elegant alliteration. As far as interpretation is concerned, I’ll come back, because I believe in interpreting things closer to what the poem actually says, rather than an overtly subjective one. So I hope this comment isn’t trite. Great writing.

      1. It’s strange you should say that because I actually think you’re very knowledgable and your posts irrespective of the them are very erudite. And you’re one of the two knowledgeable writers on WP who I admire. The other is Bruce. I don’t know if you follow him. He comments on my blog regularly, and explains some difficult philosophy using the simplest terms. He’s also a good satirist. You might enjoy reading him. I still have a long way to go.

      3. I think self-esteem issues plague us all, but I retreat to philosophy. I find a do it yourself, and find meaning and take responsibility for your good and bad actions existential approach working. It has really helped me over the past month. And being too righteous or too hedonistic isn’t the way. Solomon will agree in Ecclesiastes, which is one of the very books in the Bible I like. Basically because of its nihilistic tone. The older philosophers like Kierkegaard or Aurelius help although I don’t necessarily agree with everything they say. There are good modern books too, but some very bad ones also. But hey, ultimately whatever works. To each his/her own my friend. And I’m just as cool with observing as I am with engaging. And you’re very welcome, and thank you.
