in this hierarchy of hurt

lies a palindrome of pain

MadaM, Avid divA

should we but meet again?

so surely are you below me

even when you writhe upon me

your whispers lace with acid hiss

to further entice such errant bliss

i offer you my unwed wrists

to burn with rope and wax

so shudder we, unholy trysts

to storm and lightning cracks

leave me lashed and listless

from mercurial maiden lies

a carcass of prurient miseries

‘ neath sullen, sinewed skies …

      1. When the self slips away, one becomes mere property of our “lover.”

I believe that our visionary poets – and I number you among them – are like mirrors into our world, our lives, our hearts, and our souls. Keep on perfecting your craft and honing your vision ❀

  1. This is my first reading to your works… I’m in awe… Specially your way with words astounded me… “Unwed wrists” my favourite one… Painfully beautiful… A write to silently speak about pain and hurt and the abuse a soul could go through…

    1. Goodness Isha … thank you for your eloquent take on this tangled and slightly excruciating write. You have painted your thoughts with soft pastels for me. I’m conjuring all sorts of sweet images in my mind when silk, wine and breezes meld πŸŒΈπŸ’•

      1. The explosion is excruciating, the sparks are silk πŸ’ŸπŸŒŒ It’s amazing how you create such masterpieces… Layers upon layers, hidden secrets and open wounds.. For the reader to take what suits the fancy! πŸ’πŸŒŒ

It seems I tip toe on the same tightrope with you as you certainly feel the vibrations of my words and I am ever grateful πŸŒ·πŸ’•

  2. Diana your imageries and analogies are as enchanting As you are. Like a swirl they take me in and I am just lost.
This piece in particular is now close to my heart as i am in this whirlpool right now and you somehow perfectly gave words to my emotions.
How painfully yet beautifully you poured out the longing of a heart. The acidic hiss and the storm and the crack.
You just took me away. Again. Like always.
    Love ❀️

  3. Acidic hiss, diana-might, maelstroms and muezzins, palindromes, hierarchies, hatred–this poem has a story hidden behind it which time shall uncover. Would love to hear it someday if goddess obliges πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  4. Haha, great comment Anand! You appease me in such ways that I could easily acquiesce to your request. But I must wait for the sullen mood held at the time of writing … and your words have brightened 🌟😌me up that such a mood has dispersed πŸ˜€

    1. Ah, yes! Every so often one has to release the high pressure valve and let the steam hiss. Writing is such a release and endorphin inducer… when a punching bag or kneading dough isn’t available 😊😘🌹🌹

      1. Certainly! How we lose ourselves in the minutes when words overtake. It’s a realm of almost meditative construct…whether reading or composing. 😘😘
