you are attracted to my shine

watching me twirl

trying to define

such an essence, sublime

a diffident whirling dervish

with speed the sparks fly

and you stand closer

intoxicated, i so spry

warm becomes …

well … let’s just say “deep fry”

for such spectacle

none may decry

such revolutions as they daze

shall never fortify the ways

of your haphazard, gloating gaze

and I slow

tipping to fall

my spinning top

a fizzing fireball

ignite me again

    1. And an absolutely charming comment! Your enthusiastic reply is so thoughtful. Seeing your name brings my thoughts to my guitar, stringless until my friend returns with some lemon oil to moisturize my very dry fret board. But Of course…like you I’m sure.. I have other guitars to turn to in my hour of need πŸ˜‰ πŸ’•

  1. Delicious and delightful for a cold wintry day as I curl up with coffee, blanket, dim lighting and poetry. Now I want to shed the blanket and twirl πŸ™‚ ❀

But coffee at night? Or maybe its day and the dim lighting is just diffused lumens?

      1. Heading off to Ballarat to watch my niece sing in a concert tonight, she’s a very talented young opera singer, a Colorutura Soprano. Singing with Queens College Choir from Melbourne University, and she’s also the solo artist on the program. Before handed going for dinner with my brother and sister who both live up that way. Looking forward to the day, I’m an avid follower of my niece April, and go to as many of her performances as I can….. hehe, I know nothing at all about opera, but I do know she’s got a voice like 10 angels !!

      2. Oh my goodness! How wonderful … I’m a huge music / singing fan. And opera is truly the epitome! I did an opera adult ed appreciation course once. Would love to be in the audience with you!

  2. I am away for a few days and when I come back I am delighted to find so many posts of yours. Such a mysterious piece revolving on the words you so carefully selected. “Ignite me again” is perfectly placed at the end. I love it! ❀

      1. Oh! I love when you spontaneously do a rhyme, it keeps me returning beyond my bed time … but now I shall slip beneath blankets so deep, and Isha penned doodles my thoughts will e’er keep!
