The scent of morning

you are succulent, sublime

a titillating triumph

worthy of rhyme

presented to bewildered senses

oh, if i could but breathe you

but your scent has been lifted

in flagrant defiance to my need

a fragrance deified with floral emollients

into a crystal vial

lush, concentrated

tucked under Raziel’s wing

contents sealed, angel warmed

to wait

until our empyrean dawn

for, on that day

mere misted drops of you

melding with the amber morn

shall rhapsodize

such a horizon resplendent

with dawn’s resonant sighs

      1. Thank you Diana, for your gorgeous compliment, I’m blushing over here in Australia πŸ˜‹ although maybe it’s the lovely warm sunny day, and just back from my afternoon walk πŸƒπŸ˜†

      2. My pleasure Ivor! As for your flushed complexion lol …you lucky sod! It’s a miserable, drizzly eve in Vancouver and we are headed for the freezing mark tonight. Brrr. But I have warm interactions with marvellous folk keeping me warm 😊

      3. And I’m an Aussie transported here some 18 years ago. Watch out if you come: the Canucks overpower us and prevent us from leaving.
        Help …. haha πŸ˜‰

    1. I really, really like your reaction to this! I don’t think anyone has given me an β€œaarrgghh” before… so I’m laughing and sending gratitude your way! Thanks so much Shreya…🌷🌷

      1. I should have added a footnote – I think that angel has a glorious name. But to be called “goddess” .. this is truly something that makes me speechless ❀

      2. Oh but you speak language of a goddess! And I truly believe that poets shouldn’t bother with footnotes and such–as they’re inebriated with inspiration–that should be left for us!

      3. You, kind soul, are entirely right! I from henceforth will abandon the footnote notion πŸ™‚
I’m certainly smiling here from your compliments … πŸ™‚

      1. Did you not notice my allusion, dear Diana πŸ™‚ The jaded (albeit naughty) emoticon says it all. I flipped an older Prufrock, who portrays a older lady. Of course I know what you’re alluding to as well in your poem…

  1. Ah! My magical enchantress again. How you play with words. Or blow a spell in them and readers are attached.
    β€œDawn’s resonant sighs” oh my.

    1. Ah Priya, you are the sweet nectar that anoints and spreads to many who adore you.
Ever thankful for your presence and gushing opinion about my words. I wrote these and remind you that even a Lost Soul is not eternally Lost. Hope springs eternal and you shall bathe in it’s clear and waters. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸŒΉπŸŒΉ

      1. Then off to the lake we shall go, in case you need to take a plunge to cool off …or float for a while, losing yourself in the deep blue.
Ah a summer reverie …. good night lovely D πŸ’πŸ’œπŸ’œ

      1. Such is life but, ugh, there is no getting round the stresses of moving Renee! If I was nearby I’d come and hoist some boxes for you (the smaller ones, I’m a lightweight!) 😊

    1. Oh Erin πŸ™‚ Your comment is one of my favourite types! The mentioning a line that stands out. That I think is the ultimate goal of any writer, to see if they can find a mere trickle of something enough to inspire a feeling in another being. Thank you so!
