Morning

dismal morning you came too soon

with tentative glare you shrouded the moon

casting acid on this heart of mine

contented in shadows

allergic to shine

cowering ever from daylight divine

dare I step into the fleeting bright?

when all I have known is velvet draped night

nay, let me retreat to the calm of dark pure

for the void is my mistress

her iced fingers

my

lure

  1. Oh the false comfort of the cold dark ! The merit of this piece is in the fact that it convinces me it is from personal experience whereas my default opinion is that a lady who burns so bright as you my friend would find it nigh impossible to be in darkness . Lovely and I suspect very personal poem. thank you for sharing Diana.

  2. A poignant feeling expressed in such a beautiful way… I loved every single word there…..Your words fall on me as a snowflake melts at the contact with my skin… makes me shiver yet so warm at the same time for I am aware of this chill.

    1. Such an exquisite reaction .. dusting you with a fine layer of glimmering ice is my intention with such writing. I want a reaction of tremble on contact juxtaposed with the underlying heat of memory. Mostly I want you to feel.
      Thank you my devoted one…

      2. Dianas have so much in common! Paris, and France are thrilling me every moment though the French spoken seems to have accelerated (well in my brain at least). Iโ€™m a total Francophile and would be happy if my return ticket to Canada was lost hehe.

  3. As beautiful a post as ever. Reading it again and again, every line is pure, honed, masterwork craftsmanship.
Your use of words is so efficient, just a couple of words is all it takes for you to paint a superb picture. It’s amazing how naturally all this seems to flow from you ๐Ÿ™‚.
