Fireside…

this match was not easy to light

through this stinging

rain shivered night

yet it combusts mighty from biting spark

step closer

so it may singe itโ€™s mark

on your wayward heart

this fire is not easy to tend

weak arms on dusted bellows bend

sweet murmurs by the hearth portend

wisps of ashen promise, then spill

smouldering embers to

fireside stone

feel my warm …

fireside

  1. Flame of the diya is nowhere near to the flame of passion burns within you… Such a delectable read it is!!

    “step closer

More of a declaration it is to tell what other might loose…. Let me embrace it all while it is still in reach!!

    Absolutely stunning! โค

    1. Thank you; especially for the use of your photo. Iโ€™m transfixed by flames.

You are right, the passion of which I speak will outlast the haphazard dance of the diya flame. It has to burn to endure the winter until finally the tender spring blossoms emerge. At this time a surge of sparks will burn the house down.

  2. A tour de force my friend, perfect rhythm and flow, reading aloud feels like a libation of liquid silk. Combined with masterful allegory and word placement the reader is spoilt. Add the sentiment and the perfect piece of prose is revealed.

    1. A “libation of liquid silk” … what a truly gorgeous comment to read! Quite often the perfect prose you speak of is contained in your words my friend. I’m blessed that you read me…! ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. I wish you too a wonderful and peaceful weekend. Everything is ok at the moment, just the usual questions without answers but I am trying to live with them peacefully. Thank you for asking, dear soul. As well, I wish to see many more of your delightful work! Have a wonderful day! ๐ŸŒˆ

      2. You quite often leave me pensive with your deep thinking young lady. I suspect you are an old soul; I wish I had the answers that might give you some peace. But alas, we are traveler’s on the same path. The best we can do for each other is warn of where the tripping stones lay. xx your friend โค

      3. I am glad that my words can have this effect and can make the mind to ponder upon those questions. Tomorrow I will post something about it that has made me even more confused. Maybe I really am an old soul because I feel like one each day. Where are the times when I felt free and eternal? They are locked up, in my “unforgotten room”. No one can give me answers and as you said, we are all travellers on the same path. I will share with you my tripping stones when I will encounter them. Hope you will only do the same. Love, D. ๐Ÿ’›โค
