The Call

when the dusk daisies draw droplet dew

a breathless whisper

shall come to you

a gust of wind

carries the scented call

an enticing murmur

of forbidden enthral

settle your eyes

afire to the West

as I to the East

send your ravenous sunset

to fulfill my morning feast

let not the ocean whole

cool this languid burning

a bridge for souls now made

shall attend our silent yearning …

    1. Sometimes Nigel, I think one of my writing motivations is to invite such comments from you! You have such a wonderful way with words. Smiling from here to the horizon (have a great evening!)

    1. Thank you so much, that is a hefty compliment. ❀️

Sometimes the whispered words on a page can be a roar from the heart. I hope you were not deafened! 😌

  1. Your words reach such a higher level of emotions. They revolve in a very subtle mistery and leave behind wonderful scent. I have a lot to learn from you, my dear friend! Rainbow hugs 🌈.

  2. So many amazing images 😌. Every line burns a new wonderful picture into my mind.
I love everything about this poem. You write about love with such passion, it’s infectious. I can’t help being enthralled by it. You’ve taken what is typically seen as a difficult relationship and managed to turn it into a celebration of love, laughing in the face of the ocean between the two.
And of course, a perfect sunset to go perfectly with a perfect poem.

  3. Ah my favourite dream walker .. your words never fail to induce a true sense of gratitude in me. Imagine someone who is so unselfish in their support and asks for nothing in return! You float so effortlessly in and out of my blog and really leave a warm impression. Every time. Thank you so very much. 😊

      2. Well you’re just going to have to find a way to put up with me, as long as you keep writing your beautiful poetry, I don’t see any reason for me to stop πŸ˜‰.
It’s just about bed time for me so I’ll take that as a wish for tomorrow. I hope you are having a wonderful day πŸ™‚.

      3. I just love your effervescent attitude and support. I suspect you might well be from an alien planet where respect and kindness are paramount, so I’ll be over shortly to request a DNA sample πŸ˜‰ Welcome to earth and don’t let anyone change you!

      4. Oh no, you’re on to me. I’m going to have to go into hiding now or everybody is going to want a DNA sample πŸ˜‰. I don’t think I’m going to be able to resist commenting when I see another wonderful poem though. Ah well, it’ll be worth the countless hours of secret military experiments πŸ˜€

      5. I’m afraid that it will all be covered up though, they are afraid people might find the truth. You shall have to be my champion. I can only reveal myself if I know somebody out there will remember my existence and not be afraid to take the fight to those who would guard their secrets too closely πŸ˜‰.

    1. The heart inspires me – you can’t force the writing. You have to take a deep breath in and be in touch with your feelings. Sit in a quiet room, be focussed. Don’t even listen to music.

I was born into the English language so my vocabulary has grown over the years. If you are young and your vocabulary is developing I recommend purchasing a thesaurus, or using an online one. Ordinary words can become very ornate 😊 when you have many to choose front! And read your writing out loud before you post. See if the rhythm feels like the beat of music 😌 I look forward to reading you!

      1. I’m sitting on my hands as you are doing important work. All the reading while I sit smiling in the dark, trying to not distract you. Planning sweet revenge in the future πŸ˜‰πŸ’œ

But I know where to draw the line,
for overdose kills the taste of rhyme,
But I’ll be back, someday, sometime,
To relish your heart-felt poetry that speaks to mine!

      3. Yes I’m certain you shall find the day
When time once again allows you to play
And linger unrestrained in my writing
To counter the frigid winds, o so biting….

      4. And you Isha,
though first let me to slumber recline
a restful few hours and then I’ll be fine
for Sunday awaits with her leisurely time
