Inert

as colour leaches from the world

diluting swirled in nearby stream

under layers of grey reflection

a heart lies inert from a wayward dream

she revelled first with the promise of spring

danced under tsubaki blossoms bright

then watched the solitary seagull soar

on many a sand etched summer night

now let her nestle with the rotting leaves

the dank decay cool refreshing

her beating slows to raindrop time

pulse weakened

ever

diminishing

    1. Hey Ben, thank you for reaching out with such a question. I derive most of my inspiration during quiet moments in nature. I reflect on relationships that have ended – whether my choice or the other person 😌 Can be such a sad time right?

      1. You are so welcome Diana. Nature is always great choice, whit frequency of 7-8 Hz.It is great place for relax. So, you combine nature with human relationships. That is very interesting combination.Thank you so much

      2. Your welcome Ben! I was interested at your mention of β€œfrequency” as in my job I used equipment with frequencies of 3-20MHz. Are you an engineer perhaps?

      3. Hi Diana :),

No, I’m not an engineer. I am a lawyer πŸ™‚
You know, I am raised in Christian family, but for faith I always needed more. It’s a professional deformation to ask for proof of everything. I am on the path of enlightenment. I am sure for now, that we are energy beings, energy which vibrate with certain frequency .
And you are dealing with frequency, that could be an explanation for your creativity πŸ™‚ Thank you

      4. Hey Ben! I find your energy comments fascinating and most probably correct. It’s the reason we connect with certain people and not others. Thank you for your providing me with some mental stimulation this afternoon. πŸ™‚

  1. So different from most of your other poems in its format… How skilfully you weave words in pensive threads of poetry… The world is beautiful indeed, with writers like you! ❀🌹 May God bless you with never-ending rhymes my friend!

    1. Precious friend, I have been reading your words and seem to be contentedly regressing into a humble ball of rainbow coloured yarn … the play thing of an adorable kitten. May I be tapped to and fro as your attentions are addictive…. ❀

      1. Haha, what a cute image you present here… Did you notice that apart from being rainbow coloured, the yarn is made up of words? Is that where you get your words from – playing with them and then weaving them into rhymes? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ I wonder πŸŒΉπŸ˜‡
