Father

On this Father’s Day I’m sharing a picture of my dad from 1966.

My sisters’ names are on the chalkboard. I was a mere twinkle in his eye at this point – he was on an Antarctic expedition and some 5000km from my mother πŸ™‚

      1. I don’t know… He and my mother were divorced … partly because of his work… but he did seem to get a kick out of passing for a Turkish man…

      2. He was a weather observer working in meteorology / climate. We grew up with some amazing family slide nights featuring sea lions, penguins and ice formations. Oh, and trading vodka for Penthouse magazines with the Russians. It was a time of peace and scientific collaboration.
